Hong Kong Arts Festival’s First iPhone app Wins Best Lifestyle (Social Community) Gold Award At the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2011

April 18th, 2011

The Hong Kong Arts Festival (HKAF) is awarded Best Lifestyle (Social Community) Gold Award at the Hong Kong Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Awards 2011 last week. Ms Tisa Ho, Executive Director of the HKAF, said, “We are proud to have received this prestigious award for our very first HKAF iPhone app. It is a recognition of the Festival’s efforts in keeping up with technology and trends in information access by our audience today.”

Introduced in October 2010, the HKAF iPhone app is designed with interactive features that not only provide multi-media programme info and seat availability updates, but also allow users to share favourite programme pages on other social media networks – primarily Facebook, Twitter and Youtube Channel.

“The convenience of Festival information on the go, sharing programme details with friends and family, and accessing seat availability at any time have in turn helped us to reach new audiences, increase awareness, and drive interest in the Festival,” says Ms Ho. “We are excited about this new media exploration and look forward to developing more new features in the next HKAF iPhone app.”

Log on to the HKAF website in July for more information on the release of the brand new 2012 HKAF iPhone app.

Established in 2006 under a collaborative effort amongst the industry, the academia and the Government, the Hong Kong ICT Awards aim at recognising, promoting and commending excellent achievements by Hong Kong ICT professionals and organisations. The Awards also encourage local practitioners to develop innovative and creative ICT solutions, which will uplift the image of Hong Kong ICT sectors, both locally and internationally.
